Quest For The Golden Cards:Draft Outline Of What I Propose To Do(Script-Wise)

Script/Narration Elements

The Film Opens With A Title Screen of my production company and then it fades to black with the opening narration

Narrator: Once upon a time there was a card game, different from the rest, however the world has yet to tap the true potential of such cards, however there are a select few who possess the power to change the game forever and this is the tale of one such individual.
Music plays while I narrate details about myself to the audience

Music would be upbeat and comical to emphasise the fact that the character is easy going but determined

The opening will feature me in a variety of different situations (travelling, Playing the game, Getting out of bed,)
Me: Hi I’m Brocken rose and I’m a an uncommon kind of guy, in this world that we live arguments and wars are decided by simple card games and everyone lives in a somewhat relative harmony, however the card games we play aren’t all serious some just play for fun, like myself, I find there’s nothing better than a card game in the afternoon after a long day of school, but just recently the company that makes the card game I love decided to release a special kind of card called a Golden Ace, the cards so became known worldwide for turning the tide of an entire game, so suddenly stores were rushed for such powerful cards.
While I never really cared about the game as a serious thing, one day I brought 1 pack of cards and my destiny was changed for ever (the golden card is briefly seen at the back of the pile of cards I just got
(Film Name and Director appears)

Fade to black, then the film continues

  1. Is there any particular film opening from your research which inspired you, and how have you tried to incorporate features from these openings(or not) into your opening-or intend to do so?

  2. i felt no film particularly influenced me but i watched some comical films and liked some of the ways the camera was used.

so i came up with my original concept but realised it wouldn't work, so i went back to the drawing board and worked from there, i decided against having spoken parts in my opening an kept it to narration only to help cut down some of the editing time so viewers could focus more on the camera shots.

i would like to incorparate some slow-motion shots into my opening like in the opening section of the first jackass movie which shows that slow-motion can be used effectively.
