Studying Diffrent Film Genre Openings and The Use Of Cinematography

Today, we watched 5 diffrent film openings and studied them by watching the openings twice and the commenting on genre,mis-en-scene,sound,cinematography,camera movement/shots/compisition and editing, i think it was a good thing to do because even if no one in the group chooses to do any of the genres shown we can grasp a feel for the common points of each genre and include a discriptive detail of all of the features like horror genre will always use harrowing and disturbing music to set the tone for the rest of the film.

  1. Any particular comedic features you noticed, Brock?

  2. comedic movies tend to set up funny moments slowly to allow the audience to prpepare themselves for the comic moment, others just drop joke after joke on the audience, an example of a movie that builds up jokes or makes them obivious would be the jackass films because they oprate a very basic level of humor, whereas something that drops jokes repeatedly would be flushed away which was an animation but focused on an adventure with comedy aspects, which will be helpful in my research
